19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Vaisselier Buffet was artistically sculpted to celebrate the bounty of the earth, and perform a display, serving and storage function in the bargain!  The heraldic crest reigns atop the scrolled crown, embellished with wildflowers, shell, peach, pomegranate and grapes, all in glorious full relief.  The crown rests atop the uppermost of two shelves which create three surfaces total.  Tapered, carved and fluted columns and half-columns provide support, topped with turned finials, and backed with finely framed stylized crest and foliates in bas relief, with scrollwork flanking both panels on the sides.  The demilune gadrooning of the main surface separates the top display from the casework below.  Carved vine and foliates create the drawer facade with integral pulls in the leaves, with rosettes as accents.  The cabinet doors below, however, steal the show with the results of a successful fishing venture on the left, and a successful hunt on the right, all exquisitely sculpted in full relief.  Doors open to reveal surprisingly capacious storage within, and bold molded detail and larger versions of the columns above are mounted on each corner.
