Antique Venetian Painted Vanity was crafted in the storied city by amazing artisans during the booming economy that started the second half of the 20th century.  The curvaceous lines and finely detailed carved accents are a hallmark of the genre, made only more attractive by the painted finish which has achieved a lovely patina, and the gold highlighting which accentuates the artistry of the wood sculpting.  Graceful cabriole legs provide support to the undulating apron which also takes a serpentine form on the sides.  Pierce-carved at its very center with a crest form around, and surrounded by, floral motifs, it is a complement to the carving on the arch of the backsplash above the surface with its crackled painted finish.   Cross hatching adds a nice touch, as does the gilt bronze Rococo drawer pull which accesses the full-width storage space.
